ELECTRIC STAIRCASE

A few weeks ago at the Dallas airport while I was coming down a long electric staircase I saw an old woman, who was about to step in the same escalator but going up. Her party/family was carrying all their bags and had already jumped up leaving her alone at the bottom. Noone in that family realized that "grandma" had never before used or seen an electric staircase. I made eye contact with her from the top and read FEAR on her face. Everyone started yelling at her to jump in as she was stopping traffic but she looked very scared.

She looked at me on the other side asking for help and visually I just showed her to grab the hand rail, she copied and jumped up and smiled back. That second she was transformed, I wish I had a camera to show you her face. Without words in just a few seconds her world had changed. I will never see that woman again but in those few seconds I was reminded of the many privileges I have had, even to lear how to ride a simple electric staircase!
