I really want to share this with you as it only happens every other year or probably even fewer times. On a recent trip to Mexico City I could not help to go and spend a few hours browsing through my favorite bookstore. To my surprise, and as a gift from above, the sales guy was stacking a new book from my favorite author: Gilles Lipovetsky!!!
Yes, French sociologist Lipovetsky just launched his new book: “The Paradoxal Hapiness”. I was so excited that the sales guy probably thought I was out of prescription medication. Today the book is still winking at me at my night table but first I need to read school books. Sad.
This new book talks about the new hyper-consuemerism and how in today’s society to have a high standard of living is the global religion. I have a long history of reading Lipovetsky and every time I read a book of his its impact on me stays for months, or years, or a lifetime. I could write many blogs on his work but I guess someone more literate is already doing do. I do promise to give a review when I finish it, meanwhile dare and buy any book of him. You will be transformed.
