Yesterday to start the year I had a late lunch with family and friends at a french restaurant in the Lower East side (Lucienne). I realized how much better food tastes when one is in good company. We were five and conversation was easy and friendly. My cousin Jose Antonio is in town and he is a great guy. I am a big fan of his and not only because he grabbed the bill.
To start I ordered a glass of champagne, as I did not had one the night before and deep inside of me I made a toast to all of you my luxury readers. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!!
PS: Never order champagne in a restaurant, is too flashy. Only if is New Years.

i do not agree; is too classy! i order a glass of champagne or prosseco or cava or sparkling wine, depending on the restaurant or country I am in and is always, always, much elegant than whisky or rum & coke.(if a woman asks for a martini at noon she is an alcoholic but if instead orders a glass of champagne, she is very classy!!!
You are right, champagne is nice and classy but when the crowd is friends or relatives. When the crowd is just 'social' and bill will split, is better to avoid the lobster and the rare wines.
THANKS for writting!

I love champagne any time of the year! It's not just for big celebrations anymore...
True, champagne is for any occasion now. The rosé is the latest and biggest success for LVMH now.
