My dear friend Ophelia gave me this book and I just loved it even when it tears apart some of my dreams. This books tells us that there is no Santa Claus: Most of the luxury goods we buy are not made in France by a handcrafted artisan but in China by machines operated by teens. And yes, the cost of the goods is 10% of what we pay in the store. An excellent research by Dana Thomas, that will generate a lot of free press. Good read.
