Yesterday I felt the need for some pampering and went to get a Chinese massage. I had one hour for $48Dlls- that is a vey good price for this city. Premises were clean and the therapist was very professional. The place is tiny and really busy so one must wait a bit, but is worth it. AAAHHHHH....Christopher Steet and 7 Ave.
Afterwards I went to get my hair straightened. I read somewhere that a magic potion can make wavy hair go away almost forever. So I found a place near my school on 23 Street who performs such thing: www.villachauvin.com. The potion is expensive and smells TERRIBLE. I had it on for 35 endless minutes and the stylist said I shouldnt wash my hair in TWO DAYS!!! HA!!!! I managed to resist that smell for 3 hours, then I just had to rinse it off. But still I havent shampooed... So do not get close to me this weekend.
That night I went with my mexican friend Carla and her husband for drinks to the rooftop terrace at the Ganselvoort Hotel and then we dined at my favorite place in NYC: BUDDAKAN (www.buddakannyc.com) in the Meatpacking district. It is nice to have friends from Mexico come visit, which in this city happens quite often. They didnt notice the bad smell was coming from my head...
To close the night I went to greet some new friends in the lower east side at a place called LIT (www.litloungenyc.com). I never go down there and I was really surprised by the venue, the crowd, the music: Everything was VERY different, eclectic, exotic. Nothing like it. I call it "The NEW New York" You really feel young, hip and trendy when you are there. It takes time thoe, at first you feel dirty, old and creepy....I guess Iam not that young any more.
